Rudy Beltran is the Founder and Lead Pastor of DTC Church in Pharr, Texas. After attending UTSA in San Antonio, he lived in Houston before returning home with a vision to establish a church that would grow to be a positive influence in the community. The church had humble beginnings. It started with five people meeting in a living room and with limited resources. Under his leadership, the church has acquired and developed multiple properties, most recently completing a multimillion-dollar state of the art new building in the City of Pharr. Today, DTC is a thriving church that has empowered thousands of people to experience positive life change and has made a difference serving the Rio Grande Valley.
Rudy grew up on the south side of McAllen, where he witnessed many of his friends succumb to gangs and drugs, landing many of them in the prison system at a young age. As a teenager, he aspired to leave the Rio Grande Valley to learn, grow, and come back to share what he learned with others. It is his passion to inspire people to pursue something greater for their lives by harnessing the power of purpose, their unique potential, and faith that all things are possible.
As he likes to state, “You can be the one who changes your family’s history. You can be the first one to get a college degree, master’s degree, or PhD. You can be the first to start a business, write a book, or fulfill a greater dream.”
Some of the barriers he had to overcome were growing up in an environment where many people didn’t believe achieving big dreams was a possibility. As a young man, he was a shy and quiet student in class, not the person you would think would be speaking in front of others. And although people didn’t see that in him, he saw it for himself. As a teenager, he was inspired by world changers like Martin Luther King Jr., John F Kennedy, and Nelson Mandela, and he had a dream to one day inspire and influence people in a positive way.
He relocated back to the Rio Grande Valley and started DTC Church with limited resources, no building, and no specialized training, just a dream and a passion to see it fulfilled. Rudy has launched multiple initiatives to train leaders, build strong families, and equip the next generation. He provides ongoing strategic leadership to grow DTC Church and to continue making an impact in the community. He speaks regularly and shares the invocation at different ceremonies around the community.
Rudy has been married for twenty-two years to his wife Annemarie, and they have two daughters. He enjoys developing leaders, staying active, and spending time with his family. Rudy has served as the Board President at Covenant Christian Academy in McAllen and currently serves on the Advisory Board for the City of Pharr Parks and Recreation Department.
