OUR STORY

How it all started...

The story of DTC Church began in Houston, Texas.  Pastor Rudy had just moved into the city with plans of only sticking around for about a year. Little did he know that God had a calling on his life and he was about to meet his future wife Annemarie as well. As he likes to say it, “I met the two loves of my life within my first two months in Houston, I met Christ then I met my wife.”
Soon after, they were inspired by God to take the same good news they received to those who have yet to hear it.  Pastor Rudy returned to the Rio Grande Valley with few resources but a heart full of faith and founded DTC Church.  A few months later, motivated to support her future husband in this endeavor of faith, Annemarie joined Pastor Rudy to help establish the church.

Expanding the vision...

The journey of DTC Church began with only 7 people meeting in the living room of a home for weekly bible studies.  On May 25, 2003, DTC Church held its first Sunday worship service in a ballroom at the Renaissance Casa de Palmas Hotel in downtown McAllen with about twenty people in attendance. Later they moved out of the hotel and into a storefront location then in the summer of 2008 they purchased and renovated the 1201 W. Polk building in Pharr.

Where we are headed...

Today DTC is a thriving church continuing to fulfill a God given dream. Our vision has always been to introduce Christ to as many people as we can in the Rio Grande Valley. In order to continue expanding the vision and serving the community we need more space! We have a plan to build a new church facility that will help serve as a beacon of hope to the community. There are many ways to partner with DTC and be a part of the vision. You can get involved by serving and being a part of the team that makes each dynamic Sunday service happen and other outreach events. You can also partner through a one-time or recurring gift. Not only can you be a part of the DTC story, but we would love for DTC to be a part of your story. You were created to do great things!
